Inspiration

Before you guys judge me, yes this is a Japanese song with an extremely catchy tune and a girl singer, but the compositing in this is so creative and fun! It's very Tim and Eric-esque. When the chorus comes up and the type is just all over the place I can't help but keep pausing the video on YouTube to analyze that style.

Also the small details put into the transitions and abstract parts are what keep me fascinated. I'm still working mainly with files made digitally in After Effects and hope to implement video footage into my compositions soon to create abstract and weird designs. I hope to do editing like this one day.

On a side note, I just got in contact with an old friend who's been doing a lot of compositing work and has been telling me to learn The Foundry's Nuke, a high end post production/compositing program. I've been looking into Nuke and it's "node system" which is said to be better for much more complex compositing work than Adobe's layer system.

Just looking at that puzzles me, but I'm excited to learn. If it's like any other post production program I've learned, I'll fall in love.
